A young man from Chongqing, China succumbed to cancer earlier this year at the age of 28. He was He Yang, a student at UWA. It was sad news for the local Chinese community and many people were ready to give his family a helping hand. Actually, many people donated funds to assist his medical treatment. Caixia Li, a UWA scholar initiated the campaign to raise money for He Yang’s family as they have exhausted all means try to save the beloved son.

SAWA’s members and their families made generous contributions. They are: Mr. Ting Chen; Dr. Xiuming Wang; Dr, Keyu Liu; Dr. Jingyuan Liu; Mr. Gao Fusheng; Mr. Jordan Li, Wei Hong Zhao, Ms Gong Qian, Ms Zhao Zhuzhu, Mr. Eddie Hwang.

A social gathering was organized on March 26 2006 by Caixia Li on behalf of He Yang’s parents and his sister He Jia to appreciate the assistance they have received from the local Chinese community. Eddie and his wife Brenda and Jordan Li attended the gathering by invitation. It was good to see He Yang’s parents coping well. Life goes on. Wish every one of us taking good care of yourself and your loved ones.
